Q.Next-gen Skoda Yeti to arrive in 2018

Badge engineering, without being called as such! :) I don't think it's the price we have to pay here in India, it's a global phenomenon.

Yes [USER="11"]kaiserketkar[/USER] the new Yeti does look like a Volkswagen if you cover the badges. This is frankly irritating since Skoda seems to be slowly losing its identity by sharing platforms with other VW products. But I guess that's the price us customers have to pay to even get these cars here on our shores.

In these renderings it looks so much like a VW family member- all three of them look so similar.

The new model will feature more traditional styling with a sleeker look, incorporating the design language set out by the Vision S concept from the Geneva Motor Show, also set for the Kodiaq seven-seater which will be unveiled at October’s Paris Motor Show.

I agree a 100% with you on the looks debate on the current and the original Yeti [USER="20"]NikilSJ[/USER]. In trying to tone down the 'oddball' looks of the original, Skoda did a great disservice to what was undoubtedly a rare, distinguishable design among the current antiseptic trend of making all cars fly the 'house colours' in any given brand. All VW's look the (boring) same as do Toyotas and what have you. The sharp iteration of the 2018 renders will please a lot but endear a few as they say. I love my Yeti for the goofball looks and that's just on looks alone. On the road (or off it), it thrills every time on the variety of terrains I've traveled in it. Never let me down and saved my silly neck on more than a couple of occasions. Just wish more people understood the genius within that compact form and gave this marvel its due like they have already in the UK highlands. But then, if that were the case, we'd see more Yetis than Fortuners (which can be trumped by the snowman on all parameters but extreme off-roading) and I guess I can live to appreciate my goofball among a herd of the burlies.
