Tata Tiago vs Renault Kwid

Magesh Tiago is a better-built car and comes loaded with features. The 1.2-litre petrol motor is refined and punchy. But, if you are in for an automatic, Kwid 1.0 litre AMT is the only option you have, and have got good reviews. Can you elaborate more on your requirements? Have you test driven the vehicles?

Magesh My vote also goes for the Tiago. It's the overall better car and Tata have worked really hard on it. The only hitch about it is the Tata service experience which, so far, has not been all that great. Tata are reportedly taking this aspect seriously and I hope this shows tangible results in the coming years. [although, Renault may not necessarily be any better ]

If you are looking for manual drive, go for Tata Tiago and if you are looking for automatic then you have 3 options in no particular sequence below: 1. Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT 2. Renault Kwid AMT 3. Wait for Tiago AMT, launching in Mar-Apr 2017 Overall feature and look wise Renault Kwid AMT is better, but driving and pickup wise I found Celerio still better. The difference in cost is 45k for Celerio ZXi AMT vs Kwid AMT.

[QUOTE_NODE]"Originally posted by Magesh" Yes, completed my test drives..,what I like in Kwid is AMT and what I like in Tiago is its features and built quality. So the mind is on Tiago side, though in oscillation. [/QUOTE_NODE] I understand the dilemma, If you are happy with a manual gearbox, go for the Tiago.

Magesh Tiago is a TATA Product where, compared to the Renault KIWD, the Kwid has a solid Chassis with a powerful 1-litre engine. The quality of service and quality of manufacturing is not compromised at all. Also, the engine is more powerful than TIAGO where the power is produced at an early stage and Kwid comes with a mid-range punch. I would recommend going with Renault.

Thanush_Rv Hi, I think engine power and performance wise Tiago is way ahead than Kwid. Kwid comes with 67 bhp and 53 bhp options, whereas, Tiago is got 84 bhp.

Thanush_Rv Hi Magesh, I can understand your perception towards Tata car, but have you taken the test drive? If not, please try it and you will see and feel the differance. The Tiago is a great attempt from Tata and you will appreciate it once you drive it. Although the Kwid is also a nice car in this price range along with AMT feature, I would still suggest the Tiago.

Magesh I own the Tiago top model - XZ. It's the best with the performance it offers. You can check the XZ variant which has Airbag & ABS. And also the second last XT which don't have Airbag & ABS. I have also driven the Kwid that belongs to one of my friend, but i will not recommend the Kwid over the Tiago XT if your budget is around Rs 5 lakh. If you spend more than that, then please think of going for the top model XZ.

Magesh, we haven't driven the Kwid 1.0 but have driven the 800cc variant extensively. Of the two, my pick would be the Tiago as it has an excellent petrol engine that is peppy and refined. The Kwid feels built to a cost. The Tiago seems to be better built as Tata has plans of exporting it to other countries too. I would suggest you go for the top-end XZ variant as that comes with all the bells and whistles that even cars from a segment above do not offer as standard. If not, go for the XT variant, then you can opt for the safety pack that offers airbags and ABS.
