The brand "Endeavour" has really kept on with the Indian consumer, and to Ford it created a niche when it was first launched in 2003. Back then also, the Endeavour managed to capture half the market. Up from just over 500 units to a staggering 18000 now is the size of this SUV market annually.

Understanding the Indian consumer is what Ford has focused on. To develop a car which would fit into the weekday routine and also take on some adventure on the weekends was the aim.

Its got a host of features, which are not only focused on comfort, but also on safety and drivability. The overall design of the car has been given great importance, as consumers in this segment do look for great presence, and the Endeavour seems to tick all boxes in terms of the way it looks.

The interior have also been given lots of attention as Ford realises it would be the place you would spend most time in.

The Active-Noise cancelling works much like the headphones that we all use, what this essentially does is to completely get rid of slow-speed engine noise and vibrations.

Lots of cubbyholes and storage space add to the practicality. The 2nd and 3rd row fold down completely fold and make for 3000 litres of boot space. Theres a 60:40 split in the middle row, making it extremely versatile.

"Premium SUV customers do like integration of technology into their car of choice, keeping that in mind, Ford is constantly innovating" added Mehrotra.

The New Endeavour has the 2nd-gen SYNC2 voice recognition system and is linked to the 8" display and can be used to access any information regarding the car or the infotainment systems. The system is made to recognize over 10, 000 voice commands.

Ford's one-of-a-kind feature is the 'TMS', which is the Terrain Management System, which is usually only available in more expensive SUVs. The dial on the center console has 4 different driving modes to suit the terrain that you're driving on. This switch adjusts a lot of internal settings to give you a comfortable ride over literally anything ; such as the suspension height, accelerator responsiveness and the differential.

The E-PASS, or electric assisted steering, makes the Endaevour agile and easy to drive. Through this, they have been able to incorporate a host of features for driving ease. An example of this is the semi-auto parking assist.
It comes with 7 airbags, including a segment first ; knee airbag

Coming to the most exciting bit, the choice of engine. The 2.2litre unit has 160PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. The efficiency figures for this engine is 12 kmpl for the Auto and 14 kmpl for the manual variant.
The more interesting 3.2litre unit packs a punch with 200PS of Power along with 460 Nm torque. The efficiency however takes a toll with 10.9 kmpl.
