Auto Expo 2016 : World Debut Chevrolet Beat Activ and Essentia

Chevrolet revealed its plan for the year 2017. The company is committed to making it BIG in India, and have 4 cars lined up for launch. General Motors is essentially looking at volume segments with its new launches.
At the Expo it has four notable cars to showcase - the Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Beat Activ, Chevrolet Essentia (compact sedan), and Chevrolet Spin MPV.
Here's what the Chevrolet Beat Activ looks like - a heavily embellished variant of the Beat with LED fog lamps, projector headlamps, daytime running lamps, a sporty honeycomb grille and sporty graphics.

The all-new Cruze has already gone on sale, with updated exteriors as well as new additions on the entertainment front.

Here are few pictures of Chevrolet Spin, due to launch early next year.

The Chevrolet Spin, pictured below, will compete with the Renault Lodgy and Maruti Ertiga when it goes on sale next year. We think it may be a little late to the party, but then GM is hell bent on getting some numbers.

This car is said to generate volumes for the brand and shall go up against the best selling Ertiga and Honda Mobilio

Chevrolet also showcased the Beat Essentia - which is a compact sedan version of the Chevrolet Beat. Everyone seems to be getting on the compact sedan bandwagon, as the sub-4 metre excise duty cuts make it quite an attractive space. After Volkswagen added the Ameo to the compact sedan space, Chevrolet is adding the Beat Essentia to also compete with the Maruti Dzire, Tata Zest and Honda Amaze. The Chevrolet Beat Essentia is GM's attempt to increase volumes. While the Essentia will cater to the compact sedan or notchback buyer, Chevrolet also showcased the Chevrolet Beat Activ, a car that will appeal to a more youthful audience. The two show cars build on the carmaker’s earlier promise to launch a new MPV, the Chevrolet Spin, in 2017. The Essentia and Spin are the first two of Chevrolet's new products for the Indian market for the next five years.

The Chevrolet Beat Activ is going to be making its global production debut in North America soon as the 'Spark Activ'.

The shots reveal that the production car is very similar to the one showcased at the Expo

The alloys look really smart and i am hoping they make it to this part of the planet as well. Manufacturers in India are known to make international models 'cheaper' (affordable) before bringing them here. The DRLs on the front look great and should be distinctive for this car in it's segment.

The side profile, including the rear door's handle, is essentially the same as the current gen Beat. The only significant difference here seems to be to the roof rails. Also, the rear glass seems to be slightly larger and the shoulder line seems to be slightly lower as well.

The interior seems to be exactly the same as the concept showcased.

The interior will get the 'Activ' badging all over to differentiate it from the model that is already in sale.
