Sorry for replying so late JijoMalayil .

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is a pick-up I'm going to keep a close eye on. Though my drive was brief - I drove it around a gravel track for about 1km and could look in and about the thing for about 15-odd minutes - first impressions were good. Engine felt responsive with very little lag, steering has good feedback though its return is a tad too fast, the cabin is spacious, the interiors feel good, there is decent amount of equipment (at least on the top-of-the-line variant) and it has a usable bay. Suspension absorbs most road imperfections well except for sharp bumps - these can send the rear passengers crashing into the roof if the driver is too enthusiastic - this could be remedied if you keep some weight over the rear axle. The clutch is not very heavy, while you cannot shift through the gears too fast.

Off-road ability seems to be good - switching from 2WD to 4H is a twist of a knob. You can switch to 4L after bringing the V-Cross to a complete stop, putting the pick-up in neutral and taking your foot off the clutch. In the photo in the post by Jijo above - we just reversed the V-Cross up a gradient with loose gravel and it didn't complain even a bit.

    It looks good in BROWN!

    Be nice

Some Isuzu dealerships across the country have reportedly revealed the D-Max V-Cross's price. According to a dealer in Mumbai, the starting price for this butch pick-up starts at Rs 12.49 lakh. Tempted to recommend this to people looking at buying the Innova Crysta

At this kind of price, definitely a bargain. It is also reported that Isuzu dealers have already started to accept booking at a token of about INR 50,000.

Arctic Trucks, the Icelandic company that prepared the Toyota Hilux for Top Gear’s Polar Special back in 2007, has now modified a truck that is bound to be launched in India soon - the D-Max.
Below: The Toyota Hilux modified by Arctic Trucks for the Polar Special

Christened the D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35, the kit offered includes Fox Performance Series shocks and 35-inch Nokia Rottiva tyres. The D-Max now gets a widened track (take a look at those wheel arches!), better approach and departure angles, improved underbody protection (not that it’ll need it as the tyres and the shocks increases the ground clearance by a good 125mm from stock), LED lights. A tyre inflator is optional.

In the UK, prices for the AT35 start at £30,995 (Rs 29,81,000, excluding import duties) with a stock engine (2.5-litre twin turbo producing 161BHP) with a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox.

          Looks bloody awesome doesn't it?
