Auto Expo 2016: Jaguar launches its performance sedan XE

A lot of excitement at the Jaguar stall today. JLR, as Jaguar is known as, launched the much-awaited XE luxury sedan at a starting price of Rs. 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is the company's entry level performance sedan. The XE will go up against the likes of the BMW 3-series, Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class and Volvo S60 in the fiercely competitive segment.

Jaguar XE comes with two petrol engines with power output 147 kW and a class leading 177kW. XE also boasts class leading acceleration figures of 0-100 kph in 6.8 seconds, that’s quick! XC comes with Aluminum-intensive monocoque design with specific Jaguar F-Type inspired design cues.

Features like All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), intelligent start-stop, Jaguar Drive Control, 10-way electrically adjustable front seats, Soft grain leather seats, panoramic sunroof, navigation system, Meridian Audio System, surround camera system and Jaguar smart key.

All new Jaguar XE will be locally manufactured in JLR’s Pune plant and the sale will commence by the end of February 2016.

Jaguar is all set to unveil and launch the “Prestige’ variant of the XE sedan in India. The new variant will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine capable of producing 197bhp. The ‘Prestige’ variant will sit below the top-of-the-line ‘Portfolio’ variant and will be priced at Rs 43.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
So what do you get on the XE Prestige?
Well, a lot of extra features like a sliding sunroof for starters. You also get Taurus leather seats with driver seat memory function, interior mood lighting, 380W Meridian sound system and rear view camera.
Jaguar says the XE will offer customers “an unrivalled blend of dynamic design, performance and superior craftsmanship”
