  • Activa 3G or Activa 125?

Is there a huge difference in mileage and ride comfort due to telescopic suspension..and wanted to know about key issues in both scooters...

Joygang Yes, there's a considerable difference between the two in terms of ride quality. The Activa 3G uses a front trailing link suspension which doesn't offer much travel and the rebound is also horrible. The Activa 125 on the other hand, is equipped with a telescopic fork at the front. It is much better in soaking bumps than the trailing link type. When it comes to mileage, the Activa 125 will be less efficient than the 3G because of the bigger engine (125cc vs 110 cc), although both have identical claimed efficiency figures (60 kmpl). Expect a real-world efficiency of around 45 kmpl in the city and 50 kmpl in the highway.
Also, when it comes to features the Activa 125 is slightly better because it also comes with an analogue-digital combo cluster and an optional front disc brake. Both scooters come with Combi braking feature which considerably reduces braking distances. It is not a gimmick and I have actually experienced the efficiency of CBS system.
At 110kg, The Activa 125 is two kg more than the Activa 3G whereas the fuel tank capacity for both the scooters is the same- 5.3 liters. That means, in the real world, the Activa 3G should give you more range than the 125. Both the scooters have excellent build quality, reliable and refined engine. If you want to buy a no-nonsense, trouble-free scooter, then go for either of them. If you're the type who gets swayed by features, then do have a look at Hero Maestro, TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access 125. Take a test ride of all the scooters and let us know what you've decided. Cheers!
    Keep the rubber side down!

Joygang Praveen has already mentioned the advantages in the Activa 125. I have tried most of the scooters being sold in India, and I felt the Activa 125 is quite over priced. It does have better suspension and brakes, however, the 125cc engine does not give a major power boost. I would suggest you to try the Aviator. The Aviator has telescopic suspend, disc brakes and comes with the 110cc engine from the Activa 3g. The price is also not much higher than the Activa 3g. Essentially I would summarize the Aviator as the Activa 125 with the Activa 3g engine.
I know a lot about cars, man. I can look at any car's headlights and tell you exactly which way it's coming.

Joygang Jupiter is also worth considering : 1. Telescopic suspension 2. Front disc brakes 3. Good space 4 . Reported less vibrations compared to activa owners.

KPR I am using TVS Jupiter for last 4 months, disk brake is awesome, a must! Headlights are powerful - flasher, pickup and features are also good.
