  • Hyundai Elite i20 or Suzuki Baleno?

I am planning to buy a diesel variant car, which will be better the option Elite i20 or Baleno? I heard a lot of news that Baleno's body quality is very bad. Is that true?

Yuvaraj I'll go with the Elite i20 any day. Talking about the Baleno, the main concern is the ordinary/hard plastic used in the interiors. The kerb weight is ~900 kg. I'll advice you for the Hyundai Elite i20 because 1) The interior quality is supergood, very appealing dashboard 2) The very refined crdi engine. It feels like a petrol car, very punchy. Happy motoring 😊

Yuvaraj Buddy. It's true that Baleno is too light on highways that it becomes shaky at times on high speeds. Vitara Brezza is far better to buy than Baleno.

Mike_Martin The Baleno gets really light body panels and is also built on a lightweight platform. So at high speeds, there is a sense of vagueness in the ride. But nothing that worries you until you hit triple digit speed figures. And each variant gets dual airbags and ABS as standard. Test drive Baleno and Elite i20 back to back and see what impresses you the most.

The Baleno has a premium feel and all, but the issue that I'm worried about is Maruti's built quality. The thin and flimsy metal that Maruti uses on all their cars is a bit worrying. I've seen various pictures of banged up Baleno's and it is not a very pretty sight. Also, the interior plastics are too hard and doesn't have the soft touch feel that the Hyundai has. The Elite i20 feels like a very German car in comparison and gets the same features as well. It looks a lot more stylish, especially from the rear where I think it looks like an Alfa Romeo. Both the petrol and diesel motors are good. But if you need performance, I would suggest you go for the diesel variant as it is plenty fast and super refined. I would suggest you test drive both the vehicles on the same day and then decide.

Yuvaraj My vote will also go to Elite i20 due to much better looks, interiors, features. It feels much more premium than it's price.
