2017 Bajaj Pulsar Range

The new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F seems to have been spotted at some dealership by AutoProMag. This is after Bajaj Auto confirmed the introduction of the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar range by the year end, adding to the credibility of these photos. Just last month, Ravi Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, confirmed in an interview last month that between now and December, the 2017 range of the Pulsar will be launched with significant changes to both their appearance and performance.

From the pictures, it seems like the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F features a new dual tone scheme, the exhaust has been given the matte-black look along with some rim decals. All these changes sort of add a sporty touch to this semi-faired bike. The other notable changes are the replacement of the auto-choke with a manual unit and the blue instrument console lighting.

The Bajaj Pulsar will continue with the same 220cc, single cylinder, DTS-i engine which will be upgraded to meet the BS4 regulation. Also, IAB reported that the 2017 edition may get a slight bump in power and torque figures along with some increase in efficiency as well.

This range of Pulsars will sell along the much anticipated Bajaj Kratos range of bikes.

CorsaVeloce But the new bike looks similar to the outgoing model as the changes are just cosmetic as dual tone graphics (No mechanical and body changes). I expected the overall structure of the bike will change to some extent for the 2017 model year.

Arvind Fluidic, if you are talking about the chassis, then yes it will be the same. The changes to the engine that the market is talking about include a minor bump in the fueling system and some changes to the exhaust system so that it becomes compliant to the BS4 standard. Also, the power the could be bumped up slightly given the competition that it would face.

Tushar_Bisht Maybe, just maybe the prices of the current gen Pulsar 150/180 will drop when the 2017 version comes up, for the sake of clearing stock. I don't think the prices for the RS 200 will drop, though. The RS is still relatively new and is already competitively priced.

Chirag lokhande The 200 NS Fi/ ABS will probably be launched only after the launch of the Kratos VS 400. For now, Bajaj is concentrating on bringing out its flagship bike, followed by the other Pulsar range. Since the RS already has ABS and Fi, I don't think updating the NS is the top priority, as of now. It will take some time but it will happen, I guess. The emission and safety norms will eventually make Bajaj launch the updated NS.

New Bajaj Pulsar 220F Launched:

Bajaj has discreetly launched the updated Pulsar 220F. Apart from stickering, the bike has a tweaked engine for more refinement and complies with BS 4 emission norms. While the power output is the same, the delivery is slightly more linear, according to a report from Overdrive. Additionally, the bike also gets a softer seat and the digital instrument cluster now has a blue background instead of orange. The auto-choke has also been done away with and the bike now gets a conventional choke.
As far as pricing is concerned, the bike is around INR 5,000 more than the previous model. The new Pulsar 220F is priced at INR 91,000, ex-showroom Thane. Apparently, Overdrive's sources have revealed that the new generation Pulsars aren't exactly going to be eye-popping as we'd expect but the changes are likely to be similar to the updated 220F. I feel the updated models won't exactly drive a hard bargain as they'd still be essentially the old Pulsars that are already a tad long in the tooth. It makes sense to bring the bikes complying with the latest emission norms but Bajaj could still have done a little more in freshening up the looks as Bajaj is no stranger to revolutionary designs!

Bajaj Avenger Series Now Available with a BS 4 Compliant Engine:

One of India's most popular entry-level cruisers, the Avenger range is now updated with BS 4 compliant engines. Both Avenger Street/Cruise 150cc and 220cc bikes are now available with engines that comply with the Bharat Stage Four emission norms. Apart from that, there is no mechanical/ aesthetic change in the bikes. Around 25,000-30,000 Avengers are sold a month and the sales figures are likely to stay that way or grow with the updated Avenger bikes. Moreover, the bikes are now future-proof- at least when it comes to emissions.

When will Bajaj launch the 200 NS Fi? Is it going to be launched or not? On some sites, they say it will be launched soon but some say it will be launched only in mid or end of 2017.

chirag lokhande Right now Bajaj is concentrating on the launch of Dominar 400/ VS 400. Then they will probably launch the updated versions of Pulsar 150 and 180 (BS 4 Complaint). There is no official confirmation as to when the Pulsar 200 NS Fi will be launched. But my guess is, it will be launched mid-2017 after Bajaj is done with the other launches. If you are looking to buy a Pulsar, I'd suggest you go for the RS 200. The bike is fuel injected and also comes with an optional single channel ABS- making it much safer and a better handler than the 200 NS.

2017 Bajaj Pulsar 150cc Variant Priced at Rs 74,190 Before its official launch, Bajaj's bread and butter variant of the Pulsar range, the refreshed 150 cc variant has arrived at different dealerships, with a sticker price of Rs 74,190 (ex-showroom, Hyderabad).Basically, the 2017 Pulsar 150 is the same bike with dual-tone shad and matte black finished engine. The updated 150 cc doesn't get BSIV compliance, or an NS variant, nor a rear-disc brake option.
