The next generation Hyundai Elantra was spotted testing in south India recently. It is expected of the Elantra to carry forward the current 1.6-litre CRDi diesel, while it is reportedly receiving a new 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol in India.

JijoMalayil, this reneder of the Jeep 551 looks like a mixture of the Grand Cherokee and the Renegade don't you think. Looks good nonetheless. An SUV like this is much needed in the country. Finally we'll get to se some proper blue-blooded SUVs in the country instead of pretentious jacked-up hatchbacks that call themselves SUVs like the Audi Q3 and Merc GLA.

JijoMalayil, the shots of the Tesla 3 looks nice. I cant wait to have a go in this electric car for the masses. It has generated quite the buzz in the international markets, including India. The Elantra looks like a facelift, and not an all new car. Hyundai need to really step the game up to compete with the segment leaders in this prifce bracket. The 2.0 liter petrol engine sounds like it would tick all the boxes.
          No traction, more action!

I don't care about the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz too much but a source of mine in Maruti tells me that the company is readying a facelift of the car. It will be launched in September 2016 and one of the main changes made to it will be the addition of LED DRLs - but he's not sure in what form (integrated into the headlamps as is the case with the S-Cross, or as additions to the bumper etc.). I want Maruti to offer the Ciaz with cruise control too, maybe this facelift will also bring in this feature.
            Be nice

Images of a VW Polo TSI Bluemotion has appeared on Autoblog India’s website today. The car sports test plates and must have been imported for testing purposes. While the Polo sports a Bluemotion badge at the rear, it is still unclear if the car imported sports a 1.2-litre TSI Bluemotion or the 1.0-litre TSI Bluemotion engine. Most likely, it could be the latter version. This version produces 75PS of power and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Bluemotion technology is nothing but the engine with a start/stop system, gear change indicator and regenerative braking. Vehicles equipped with these features in India can claim tax incentives by the government. The Maruti SHVS system in the Ciaz and the Ertiga are examples of this. Also, these cars are exempt from Delhi’s Odd-Even policy too! Looks like VW’s onto a winner here.

A winner surely! The Ameo should get it too. Will make it even more competitive.

A speculative rendering of the next-gen Renault Duster is out. Reported to developed in both 5-seat and 7-seat avatar. This rendering is of the 7-seat version and is reported to be a good 200 mm longer (around 4.7 m in length) than the regular variant.

If this is the Duster, I wonder what the Koleos will look like? Like a Chevy Suburban?

Ha ha! Looks like you don't watch FBI television series!

But seriously, that was my point. The Duster is supposed to be a compact SUV and the Koleos slotted above it. Now if they're going to make the Duster larger and with 7 seats, then that would mean that they Koleos also has to be put on a bulking diet. Strange.

Kaiserketkar Haha! Don't you think Duster branding will be better for Renault to venture into the seven-seat segment. Koleos hardly found any takers in India. I found the Koleos design very under-stated for an SUV! The new one also follows that theme, here is the new Koleos that is being developed.

JijoMalayil oh no! What happened to the Duster's funky design. When the Duster first came out, I just couldn't stop staring it because of its quirky design. From some angles, the Duster looked like a beach buggy with those flared wheelarches. This new render looks boring in my opinion. It's a bit too safe.

I hope it remains a speculative image. Not a big fan of this. The Duster is supposed to be a compact-crossover, I hope it remains so.

Besides, the facelift actually improved the overall look considerably.

You got to hand one thing to Renault however.... the design made the Duster stand out. And I too am afraid, Renault have gone a little too safe with the new design. Not good for brand Duster.
