Volkswagen will be launching the new Passat at the Auto Expo. The new Passat will quite possibly feature the 2-litre diesel from the VW family, and possibly the 1.8 petrol (similar to what the Skoda Superb engine options are). Here are some spy photos of the Passat being unloaded, possibly for the Expo.

Tired of the spy shots? This is what the car actually looks like:

Pretty sly, aren't I? Today is the Ameo launch. The Volkswagen Ameo to me looks like a Polo with a stubby boot stuck on. I'm hoping it would be more than that. But going by the great teaser ads that Volkswagen is showing, it looks like this is a desi special. Wonly for India, Mind it!

Mr. Fox I feel the Ameo's boot job looks way better than what Maruti achieved with their DZire. It does look odd, but of all the sub-4 metre sedans at least this one looks proportionate.

Yup, the Ameo's rear looks just about fine. Also, the big 215/ R 16 wheels on the Ameo are a big plus !

Got this in my email today.
Limited Edition Mahindra Scorpio named the Scorpio Adventure coming soon!
As per the report on Zigwheels, it will come with new alloys, contrasting cladding and as is apparent from the image below, a new set of decorative stickers [that will fade and look ugly after 2-3 years in the sun . ]
Wonder if there'll be any non-cosmetic addition that will justify the "Adventure" in the name! I hope there is.

Mahindra has done this quite a few times. Either an Adventure or Sports variant. Remember the XUV with the red insets on the alloys - the XUV500 Sports or the canary yellow Scorpio Sports. Come to think of it Renault beat M&M to it with the Duster Adventure kit (at least that had some addons) and so did Tata with the Storme Adventure. Time for Mahindra to get adventurous now I guess. I don't expect anything radical.
                  Drink coffee and drive!

Hyundai Tucson was spotted testing in Tamil Nadu recently. Showcased at the Indian Auto Expo, Tucson will be positioned between Creta and Santa-Fe in Hyundai's lineup of cars in India. Expect a October-November launch.

An electric variant of the cheapest car in India, the Tata Nano was spotted testing on Indian roads recently. By what looks like an electric charging socket on the rear left of the car, this is perhaps the Tata final chink in the armour of elevating Tata Nano sales in India. Even the suspension travel of the spied Nano, when compared to the existing Nano variants, is lower or compressed, i.e. the gap between the wheel arch and tyre could be lower because of the added weight of the battery back. Hopefully Tata will bring the Nano EV out soon! Image courtesy:-rushlane

Interesting development, this could be a potential break for the Nano.

Renault is working on a new generation of their popular model Duster. Slated for global debut in Brazil later this year, a picture of the steering wheel was released on online recently. I know! it's just a steering wheel But, what is different? For starters, it all new. 4 spoke, sleeker unit now with combination of leather and silver accents. Instrument cluster looks like it is been carried forward from the current model.

The Jeep 551 will be the second-gen model of the Jeep Compass or Jeep Patriot. It will debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November. India is also slated to receive this model by 2017 and will be manufactured at Tata-Fiat JV plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra.

The Renault Kwid was spotted in Brazil before its launch. Seen are rear wiper and those stylish alloys. The instrument cluster is reported to be a conventional digi-analog instrument console. The Indian version gets a full digital display. In order to meet the latin NCAP, Kwid will get dual airbags as standard. To be offered in both 0.8L and 1L variants, these motors will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an Easy-R AMT as well.

Far from its delivery date to customers in late 2017, prototypes of Tesla Model 3 have been spied testing at many places in the USA. In the latest, the Model 3 was spied in California.
