This thread is to keep you up to date with the latest spottings of upcoming cars/bikes in the wild!

Let's start off with the 2017 E-class, the brochure got leaked online accidentally by the portal www.Auto-presse.de and was pulled down shortly but not before a LOT of sites managed to their hands on the images.

The 2017 E-class looks like the love child of the C class and the S class, I have to say it doesn't look bad but at the same time it doesn't look at unique as the BMW/Audi cars across segments ( they look different but at the same time you can see clearly see the DNA in the design philosophies of the cars respectively)

The new E class will make you look twice; to check if you spotted an E class or a C class

On the inside however it looks proper lux! I MEAN LOOK AT THOSE REAR SEATS!!! HUBBA HUBBA

personally I'm a bigger fan of how Audi has executed the digital instrument cluster, Merc panels seem to flat/squarish from a design perspective.

I dont think they have the S class ambient lighting feature ( else I'm sure they'd have been a shot of it in the press release)

sooooooooooooo we have some details of the first new engine for the new E-class ( at least the US spec one) ; its a 2 L four pot turbo with 241 horses and 370 Nm of torque. Comes with 9G transmission and all kinds of electronic wizardry including
    • Steering mounted swipe control ( I wonder If I can use tinder using my imaginary new Mercedes E-class)
    • Dual screen ( driver instrumentation panel + infotainment , kind of like what you have in the new S class)
    • Auto braking ( Trying really hard to not crack a bollywood joke)
    • New DRL set up
    • Autoparking using your phone ( looks like MB is really taking the fight to BMW , BMW offers the same in their 7 Class), it's for those really tight spots where you dont have enough space for yourself to come out.

Come to think of it, wont you end up blocking someone's car door that way? coz you know not everyone has an app assisted remote parking feature. Feel free to do it next to the latest gen BMW 7 series though.
    • Car to car communication - no it doesn't mean you can talk to other car drivers; it's car to car communication to avoid collisions/reduce risk of accidents
    • lane change assist - you switch on your indicators and the car will help with the lane change . I dont think they need this feature in India/Delhi; the concept of indicators is alien to the masses

I think this just might be a hit in India coz petrol cars are back thanks to pollution control measures ( plus I have a soft spot for petrol engines)

Roshun any clue when the India launch might be?

They basically ran their existing cars through a photocopier

    C Class at 120% = Exterior
    S Class at 80% = Interior

Come on Merc, please make your cars stand apart unlike Audis and BMWs!

NikilSJ, come on, you have to love the new design language. And in their defence, they ARE significantly different from the rear!
        No traction, more action!
