Happy Birthday Everyone!
Can't describe how happy I am being part of the ZigWheels Forum, it has made the past year very memorable for me. The people I have come to know, the cars and bikes and other vehicles I have seen (maybe experienced too), and the experiences I have had thanks to the Forum brings me indescribable joy.
Here's a short look back at my year in the Forum.
Vidit wows with his win(s) at the 2015 Maruti Suzuki Autocross. This was the first time I ever saw him drive, and I was amazed.
CorsaVeloce brings a friend's tuned car to office. Of course, we had to try some launches.
The first long trip of the year. In a car that I have loved ever since. If reading the trip report makes you a bit amused, you should have seen it before it was edited.
My car is anointed! Just as we assemble for ZigDrive 1 to the Heritage Transport Museum in Manesar.
One of the many interesting artifacts at the Museum, if you haven't visited it - I do recommend you go there.
One of the few ZigDrives I missed, I can only console myself because I know I can't be at two places at once.... and because there are brilliant photos and videos of the event on the forum. The one above is courtesy NikilSJ
The ride to Death Valley, Surajkund courtesy ZigDrive 3 will be remembered because it reminded me that you do not need to go too far to discover beautiful places in Delhi/NCR. I will also remember it because of the bloody monkeys who partly destroyed my car.
Here's Speedzilla using skill and his natural advantage of being a skinny lad to good use while driving an underpowered kart. I forget the name of the event, and I think we have not written anything about it on the forum.
Two yellow beauties at the World Of Service, Noida during ZigDrive 4. It was a good initiative, but I also learnt why they say that 'silence is golden'.
The Brezza learns a lesson or two in looking macho from a real SUV. This was during the time we pit it against the Ford EcoSport. I had no idea then (or maybe did not want to believe) that our dear fellow countrymen would lap up this pseudo-SUV. Oh well.
Welcome to 'Lounge Endeavour'. On our way to Jeorge Everest Peak, Uttarakhand in the Ford Endeavour 2.2 AT. There is enough room in there for two fully grown adults to sleep in - I know because that is exactly what I did.
Roshun diagnosing a problem with the Zen. A faulty alternator was the culprit.
I can proudly say that I drove two superbikes placed on a trailer attached to a Scorpio without any issues. Tick 'trailer-driving' off my bucket list.
Why? So that two friends could be relaxed enough to spend their energy riding the said superbikes at the track.
The only photo I took at the 'Stump 1' position during ZigDrive 5. While I am still alive, some of the more enthusiastic drivers that day gave me many chances to question my life choices.
Nikhil Kalra's XUV500 gets a sticker too. He's quite the adventurer.
One of the more boring photos from our mad two-day drive to Bangalore to attend ZigDrive 6.
We didn't want to get back to Delhi too soon, decided to take a longer route back!
4500kms done! That was a trip to remember.
Just a random photo.
The Zen gets inked! More stickers, yay!
Praveen tries to steal my thunder.
The BR-V and Scorpio unite for another adventure!
CorsaVeloce gets scared for the first time in his life. Loses top spot because of a pesky cone at the 2016 RFC India Off-Road Challenge.
The Honda NAVi sets hearts on fire
Artistic shot of the new Duster - cause I was more concerned about the stupid plastic cladding at the front.
I drove the Zen on the BIC! Woohoo!
My first experience of driving in a convoy at the 2016 HVK Monsoon Drive-North. Brilliant event.
The only affordable 'original' Jeep I can think of taking off-road. The price of the Wrangler in India sank quite a few hopes.
When you do something you love, it shows. At the 4th Anniversary special off-road drive of the Terrain Tigers.
The off-road go-karts were so much fun!
AWD drifting the Ford Endeavour 3.2 AT at another terrain tigers OTR event. I don't think there is a report of the same on the forum.
The Elantra is a lovely looking car
And we tested it at the BIC of course!
I missed a lot of action after that because I have now shifted to the beautiful city of Pune. The reports on the Punto Abarth Track Attack and the Kebab Run have been so much fun to read.
It has been a lovely first year here. I hope the next one is even better. Happy New Year!
