Bridgestone Launches new Potenza and Turanza tyres

Those of you coming in for a tyre change, here's something that should hold your attention. Bridgestone has launched two new models of tyres in its Potenza and Turanza series. These tyres are the Potenza S001 and the Turanza T001.
The Potenza S001 is targeted at performance car and sports car owners who want a tyre that can handle high speeds with good braking and cornering ability. The Turanza 001 is aimed at those looking for better ride comfort and long distance touring.

Key features of the Bridgestone Potenza S001, according to the Bridgestone release:

• A Multi-Performance Block - The outside block, which takes most of the load when cornering, has been enlarged and reinforced to improve both wet and dry handling
• 60° Slanted Lug - Block sipes are positioned a 60° angle, with the same effect as the nose of an F1 racing car. Block rigidity has been optimized, improving both traction and braking performance
• GUTT II stimulation straight grooves - Simulating the alignment, thickness and configuration of the straight grooves significantly reduce the risk of hydroplaning
• Semi-Slick Center Rib - Improves the handling response of the steering center
• Block and Slick Combination - Lateral grooves improve traction and braking. The combined with slick areas, reduces wear on the inside edge and guards against becoming unbalanced with the outside edge

Key features of the Bridgestone Turanza T001:

• Noise Reduction Groove - Insulates passengers from tyre noise
• High-Angle Tread Blocks - Maintains block stiffness for better braking even in wet conditions
• Nano Pro-Tech^TM Tread Compound - Optimal wet performance and reduced rolling resistance
• FCP Tyre Profile - For longer tread life

The Potenza S001 is available in 12 sizes to fit wheels from 17-inch to 20-inch rims. The Turanza is available for smaller cars in 11 sizes that fit 15-inch to 18-inch diameter wheels.

Potenza GIII's were my favorite back in college days and I quite literally had to contact Bridgestone directly and place an order from the next lot for the Joymobile as R12 size was unavailable everywhere.They were imported and were MADE IN JAPAN which upped the feel good factor . These really works wonders with the overall handling,steering feel and braking.but wears out a bit faster than normal tires due to the softer rubber.Spent hours painting the letters just to give it that F1 Bridgestone sticky tyre looks
