  • My ladakh Trip Itinerary- Feed back requested

Hello once again Zigwheelers. Hope you are doing awesome just like i am here.

This post requires your suggestions and corrections. Leh, ladakh is every bikers dream tour. He/She drools over the chance to make it into a reality. I am not an exception. Hence, i have gone through multiple internet pages and gathered as much information as i could and prepared below itinerary. Writings differs greatly from personal experience. So, to guys out there who have done leh, i request you to mountain some patience and go through it and give me some suggestions. Be it of any kind- ranging from route changes to things i should carry.

This is my first time and I am planning to do this on Bajaj's new flagship model- Dominar 400 .

Here is the legend to understand it. I have used basic application of Notepad instead of excel as everyone might not have paid such hefty amount just to open excel at home(including me).

    A - Date
B - Time range of Activity
    C - Activity
    D - Drive route
E - Distance of that activity
F - Time for the activity - Actual( from Google maps and other sources)
G - Time for the activity - Expected
    H - Cummulative distance
    J - Cumulative hours
    I - Rest hours.

    Cheers. Peace out.

Praveen Thank you so much for the links. They are really helpful. A few more questions about topics i cannot find in those links. 1) Can we drive our two wheeler around all the routes in ladakh region during nights? 2) Is visiting Daulat Beg Oldi or Murgo camp possible ? 3) Is high octane petrol available anywhere in ladakh area? ( Sorry...can't help it)

You're welcome. I personally don't think it is safe to traverse through hilly regions like these at night. However, travel expert HVKumar will have a better idea than me.
I'm curious, why would you need high-octane petrol? Normal petrol is enough for the Dominar to do this trip, as a few riders have already taken the Dominar to Leh-Ladakh without problems.

Praveen I am filling her up with High octane Petrol since Day 1. Just want to maintain the uniformity to the engine. You know, just giving what it expects.

That's nice, but high-octane petrol will make negligible difference to the Dominar's engine as the compression ratio isn't high enough to fully exploit the combustive characteristics of the fuel. In the mountains, I think you should just be glad if the fuel isn't adulterated, let alone high-octane fuels!

Praveen Lol. .. I know.. Just trying out the possibilities. Hey, were you able to go through the notepad attachment in the first post or at least can you see any attachment with it? (coz i can't see it :| ). Which one is best place to start ? Delhi or Chandigarh I choose Delhi as it has more connectivity and cost to travel and parcel my vehicle are little cheaper. Suggest me one please. Visiting Wagah for Border retreat ceremony is also a part of itinerary.

I'm not able to see the attachment. You can only attach image files. Chandigarh is closer, but if you're shipping your bike to Delhi, you can tour Delhi for a day and then go to the hills. The road between Delhi and Chandigarh is smooth and you can cruise lazily at 95-100 kph.
