To me, Roads are my Temples and Motoring – Another way of Worship.
Am also an avid traveller who always want to explore the unexplored ones and would like to raid this part of the World – again & again.
Did Delhi-Srinagar-Leh-Sarchu-Manali-Delhi last year (June15, 16 days) and this was my first visit to Spiti Valley (15-17 April’16, 3 days) – Delhi-Shimla-Rampur-Pooh-Kaza-Pooh-Rampur-Shimla-Delhi. Couldn’t cross Kunzam as the Roads were not yet opened.
Got Leh’d – then Why Spiti ?
This Question struck in my mind, after visiting Spiti Valley recently – infact – during that visit itself. Not able to get rid of this thought which prompted me to pen down my heart here.
Though Motoring on the same terrains DAILY to even my work place gives me a new learning and experience BUT...
Got Leh’d – then Why Spiti ?
What new has this region offered to me ?
Did I visit it for such a short span & missed something ? Something BIG ?
Was I expecting too much or this Valley has nothing unique to showcase ?
Should I had done Srinagar-Leh-Sarchu-Gramphu-Kunzam-Shimla in one go ?
Am I a Motoring enthusiast ONLY and haven’t explored deep into this Valley like did in Ladhak ?
Am I comparing it with Ladhak region ?
Here’s my take home from these 2 regions in a pictorial form. The info shown here is a mix of personal experience & as available on net. Apologies in advance to compare two heavens on Earth but couldn’t resist myself.
Got Leh’d – then Why Spiti ?
The Answer is yet to come...but am sure – the interim answer is – There’s much to be explored at Lauhaul-Spiti-Ladhak !!!
(No offence - anyone pls – specially Lauhaul-Spiti Lovers)
Happy Motoring, Ride well, Drive Safe.
