This achievement is commendable, considering the country is still reeling under the effects of the wretched virus, and then there’s the ongoing global semiconductor shortage

The raging COVID-19 pandemic and global semiconductor shortage seems to have not cowed Audi India into submission, with the carmaker registering 3,293-unit sales in 2021. This is a staggering rise of 101 percent compared to 2020, and its best performance since 2008.

Audi’s current India lineup consists of the A4, A6, A8 L, Q2, the recently launched Q5, Q8, S5 Sportback, RS 5 Sportback, RS 7, and the RS Q8. Its electric offerings are the e-tron SUV, e-tron GT, and the RS e-tron GT.

In 2021, Audi brought multiple new cars, with the A4, Q5, Q8, A8L, and A6 generating solid demand, according to the carmaker. Case in point, the Q2 SUV recorded its highest-ever sales in December. Even Audi’s performance range – RS Q8, RS 7, RS 5 Sportback, and S5 Sportback – fared well.

Audi’s next offering for India will be the facelifted Q7. It will be launched later this month, and bookings are already underway at select dealerships for a token of Rs 3 lakh. It will be a petrol-only SUV, and it will discard the existing model’s estate-like profile, and pack new tech. Check out the facelifted Q7’s variant-wise features and colour options

Prices for the Q7 will likely start from Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and it will take on the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, and Volvo XC90. In related news, the carmaker will hike prices of its entire lineup sometime in January.
