Is Honda Gearing Up To Take On The Bajaj Pulsar N160?

The Japanese manufacturer is all set to unveil a new motorcycle early next month

Honda Motorcycle And Scooter India has sent us an invite for its new product set to debut next week. While the bikemaker hasn’t revealed what it is, we believe it to be a 160cc commuter, aimed at making a dent in this competitive segment.

The new Honda motorcycle will likely be based on the Unicorn, with the same 162cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. That said, it may get a slight performance bump from the Unicorn’s 12.92PS and 14Nm, along with sleeker bodywork for a sportier visual appeal.

Underpinnings for the upcoming Honda bike will likely include a telescopic fork and monoshock setup, with a disc up front and the option to choose between a disc and a drum at the rear. It may get 17-inch alloys, however, they would be wrapped in bias-ply tyres and not radial units.

The Honda Unicorn is currently priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and the new sporty sibling could demand up to Rs 1.12 lakh. But with the XBlade being Honda’s sporty 160cc offering, will the new bike replace it? Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to know.
