Should charge a surplus over the variant it’s based on.
Nissan has introduced a new GEZA Special Edition for the Magnite sub-4m SUV. Geza in Japanese means a certain type of music and sound that is played on the stage and that seems to be the inspiration behind the kind of feature additions that have been made to the SUV.
And while the pricing for the GEZA special edition hasn’t been announced, it is slated for a reveal on May 26. The carmaker has opened the order books for a token amount of Rs 11,000 and it seems like the rollout will be done in a phased manner as we haven’t even got any teased image that hints at what to expect. Nissan has only divulged the new features that have been made available on the inside and no deets have been given on its styling changes or on what variant it’s based on.
Staying true to its name, the Magnite GEZA edition seems to focus heavily on the entertainment aspect and offers an updated 9-inch infotainment system in place of the standard 8-inch system. Then there’s wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting that can be controlled using connected car technology, a premium speaker system from JBL, and an updated rear view camera.
The standard Magnite’s features like an air filter, a 7-inch digital instrument display, electric ORVMs, cruise control, push button start/stop, rear AC vents, and rear wiper should be on offer alongside the new features. With the BS6 phase-2 norms that kicked in from April 2023, Nissan made a lot of safety equipment standard on the Magnite, including electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It also gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD and a rear defogger in its safety kit.
Nissan hasn’t revealed any other dope apart from the new beige colour upholstery for the seats. It is likely that its exterior styling tweaks will be communicated before or when the prices for it are revealed. Even the powertrain options that will be available haven’t been revealed, but given that both the 72PS 1-litre petrol (5-speed MT) and 100PS 1-litre turbo-petrol (5-speed MT and CVT) powertrains are on offer, the Geza special edition could also be available with both.

We expect the GEZA special edition to carry a premium over the respective Magnite variant that it’ll be based on. The standard Nissan Magnite retails between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 11.02 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Maruti Fronx, Kia Sonet and its ilk.
