The fourth-gen 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is offered in five broad trims: LXI, VXI, VXI (O), ZXI and ZXI+. While you might have seen the top-end car across the internet, this report is for those who are considering the lower-end variants. We have sourced the VXI variant images and here’s a deep dive into the one-above-base model.
Up front, the 2024 Swift VXI’s overall design is similar to the top-end model, with the grille dominating the face, flanked by projector headlights. But keen-eyed readers will notice that the headlights here rely on halogen bulbs and the DRLs are replaced by a chrome strip. Look closely and you’ll notice the absence of fog lamps, which are limited to the ZXI+ variant.
In profile, the most conspicuous thing is the presence of 14-inch steel wheels with plastic covers. Alloys are offered from the higher-end ZXI variant onwards. Other highlights of the VXI variant are the body-coloured door handles and ORVMs, the latter with turn indicators mounted on it.
The rear-end looks similar to the top-end model with clear lens LED tail lamps. Zoom in the image and you will notice that this variant misses out on a rear washer and wiper. That said, it still gets a rear defogger.
Inside, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift VXI’s dashboard layout is similar to the top-end model, but this being a lower-spec variant, there are some obvious differences. For starters, it lacks the silver strip that’s offered in the higher-end models, giving a nice visual contrast. Look closely and you’ll notice that you get a normal TFT multi-info display instead of a coloured-one.
The good news is that you get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Music is routed through a 4-speaker sound system and you even get steering-mounted audio controls for added convenience. And despite being a lower-end model, it still comes packing a climate control.

Other highlight features include remote locking, all-four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, USB charging port (in the front), six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and rear parking sensors. Bits such as cruise control, push-button start and rear parking camera are all limited to higher-end variants.
Underneath the hood, the 2024 Swift VXI is powered by the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 82PS and 112Nm. This is the lowest variant to pack a 5-speed AMT, which is available alongside the 5-speed manual.
As for ‘kitna deti hai?’, the Swift manual returns 24.8kmpl while the AMT delivers 25.75kmpl.
The Swift VXI manual is priced at Rs 7.3 lakh, while the AMT costs Rs 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom). For detailed variant-wise pricing, head to our launch story. It locks horns with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Citroen C3, while being a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Triber.
