Kinetic Green, a subsidiary of the Kinetic Group, has joined hands with automotive component maker Autoline Industries to develop e-bicycles for the Indian market. The duo have already developed its first e-bike christened E-Speed, under the partnership. It’ll be offered in two variants which can be differentiated on the basis of wheel sizes - 26-inch and 24-inch wheels.
If you’re interested, the bike will be available from December 1 for a price of Rs 24,999. It will be sold via Kinetic Greens dealerships which are spread across 150 cities in India. The idea is to bring a wide range of innovative yet affordable EVs to the masses.

The Kinetic E-Speed packs a 11-Ah lithium-ion battery and a 250-watt electric motor which can travel 30km on a single charge and offer a top speed of 25kmph. The lightweight battery is detachable and takes up to three hours to fully charge via a conventional household socket.
It will be built at Autoline Industries’ Pune plant which has a production capacity of 1,000 cycles per month. This can be further expanded to 10,000 units per month, according to market demand. As per the alliance, Autoline will carry out the development of the electric cycle with almost 100 per cent localisation. Kinetic Green and Autoline Industries plan to introduce more models soon if the market demands it.
Hero Cycles recently joined hands with Yamaha to co-develop the Lectro EHX20 electric cycle in India. It’s powered by a Yamaha-sourced electric motor, comes equipped with a detachable battery and has a claimed range of 60km-70km. You can read all about it here.
