Price: The Harley-Davidson X440 is competitively priced, with the Denim variant starting at Rs 2,39,500, the Vivid variant starting at Rs 2,59,500 while the S variant starts at Rs 2,79,500 (all prices ex-showroom).

Features: Even though this Harley-Davidson is meant to be a pocket-friendly bike, the features on offer are pretty impressive. In the top-spec variant, the TFT console is Bluetooth enabled and features turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts etc. In the lower two variants, the TFT gets standard readouts like - real-time mileage, distance to empty, and gear position indicator, in addition to the tell tail lights.

Engine: The roadster is powered by an all-new 440cc, 2-valve, air-oil-cooled single-pot motor. It produces 28PS at 6000rpm and 38Nm at 4000rpm. In fact, the company claims 90 percent of the torque comes in at as low as 2000rpm. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: In terms of rider aid, you get traction control and dual-channel ABS. That said, in motion, the bike does let out a sweet thump. The new engine rests in a trellis frame which is suspended on a 43mm inverted fork at the front, and gas-charged, preload-adjustable dual shocks at the back. The X440 runs on 18-/17-inch alloy wheels (spoke rims in base variant) shod in new MRF Zapper Hyke tyres - 100/80-18 (front) and 140/70-17 (rear). Braking is managed by a 320mm disc with an axially-mounted ByBre caliper at the front and a 240mm disc at the back. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. It weighs 190.5kg kerb, has a seat height of 805mm and a decent 170mm of ground clearance.

Rivals: Given its pricing and performance, it goes up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda H'ness CB350, Yezdi Roadster and the Jawa 42 2.1.

Variants: The Harley-Davidson X440 is offered in three distinctive variants known as 'Denim,' 'Vivid,' and 'S.' Drawing a parallel to the variant segmentation of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, the 'Classic' variant of the X440 features a simple yellow colour scheme, blacked-out engine fins, and spoke wheels. Moving up the range, the mid-spec 'Vivid' variant showcases alloy wheels, blacked-out fins, and a dual-tone colour scheme. As for the top-spec 'S' variant, it boasts premium colour tones along with meticulously machined elements.
