Splendor Plus Key Highlights
Price: The Hero Splendor Plus has 4 variants. The base variant, priced at Rs 75,441, misses out on i3S (start-stop) technology. Next up is the Splendor Plus i3S Drum variant which costs Rs 76,786 and gets the i3S (start-stop tech) and the same paint schemes as the base one. There’s also an i3S Drum Brake Black & Accent variant which gets a glossy, all-black paint scheme and is priced the same as the i3S Drum Brake variant at Rs 76,786. The top Splendor Plus i3S Matt Axis Grey variant is available for Rs 78,286 (all prices ex-showroom) and gets a matte-black paint scheme with a single-piece alloy grab rail.
Design: Despite receiving numerous updates over time, the Splendor Plus retains its classic body design with simple styling and a quarter fairing over a rectangular headlight, a design that has evolved through generations. The side panels maintain a clean and straightforward look, and the rear features a robust chrome luggage rack. The Splendor Xtec variant brings a slightly more modern touch with its offset LED DRL.
Features: The Hero Splendor Plus takes a modest approach towards features. It has halogen lights all around and an analogue instrument cluster with all the basic tell-tale indicators. It just has a combined braking system (CBS), and no ABS, but all variants get alloy wheels with tubeless tyres and self-start. Its biggest talking point is the i3S, or the start-stop technology, that automatically shuts off the engine when the bike idles for some time, and restarts when the clutch lever is pressed. This helps in improving mileage. It has a 5-step preload adjustable rear suspension, and a long, single-piece seat, both of which help make the bike comfortable to ride. Hero has also given the Splendor Plus a side-stand indicator and a five-year/ 70,000km warranty as standard.
Engine: The Splendor Plus is equipped with a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 97.2cc, fuel-injected engine, coupled with a 4-speed gearbox. This powerplant generates 8.02PS at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6000rpm of torque.
