Maruti Ertiga facelift

The Maruti Ertiga has been a great success story for the largest four-wheeler manufacturer in the country since its launch in 2012. Not resting on its past laurels, Maruti is bracing up to launch the facelifted version of the Ertiga in the Indian market soon. ZigWheels has learnt that the new Maruti Ertiga facelift will make its India debut on October 10th prior to the festive season. Booking for the facelifted Ertiga has commenced at many dealerships and according to our sources Maruti has already received a considerable number of enquires. The 2015 Maruti Ertiga sports a bolder three slat chrome laden front grille, chrome around the fog lamps and more chrome at the rear above the number plate. Clearly, Maruti Suzuki wants the Ertiga to look more premium than before. The 2015 Ertiga also gets a new and more aggressive bumper. Other visual elements include a redesigned 10-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels, new tail-lamp cluster with new reflector.

On the powertrain front, expect the same set of engines to be carried forward on the facelifted model and the Ertiga will be available with both petrol and diesel powerplant.

The petrol will be the 1.4-litre 95PS/130Nm mill and the diesel will be the 1.3-litre 90PS/200Nm block. But the diesel motor will be equipped with SHVS technology making it a hybrid. The SHVS will come with Deceleration Energy Regeneration system that sends wasted energy into an electrical system for storage. This system takes load off the alternator which improves fuel economy over a period of time. The government now offers incentives on cars with any kind of hybrid system manufactured in India and the level of the incentive is measured by the extent of fuel saving also excise duty on the Maruti Ertiga SHVS will be reduced. The Maruti Ertiga facelift is expected to be priced around Rs 7 to 9 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2015 Maruti Ertiga will be offered in six colour shades that include superior white, silky silver, granite grey, serene blue, pearl blue blaze, and radiant beige.
