Nowadays, with so many vehicles on the road, very few people have the privilege of parking their cars or bikes in closed garages during festive seasons. Whether you can avoid it or not, your beloved car or bike can very much become a victim of a colour attack during the festival of Holi. Light coloured vehicles and interiors of four-wheelers do take a major hit on such festive days. The various stains that can be found on vehicles post Holi are namelycasn be broadly categorized as: colour stains on outer body, colour stains on interior panels, water stains on glass, and bird droppings too!
Well, for folks who have seen their cars and bikes endure all this and emerge unscathed, a big thumbs-up to you all as you can sit back and enjoy the long weekend. And for those who have not been that fortunate, we at ZigWheels have some solutions for removing the Holi colour stains on your vehicle.
Holi colours stains on the exterior of the vehicle in most cases can be removed with a good wash. There are several automotive shampoos available with car accessories shops who usually stock these products. These shampoos have to be mixed in water making a soapy solution to clean your vehicles with. These products are specially designed to remove grime and stains on the vehicle surface. They also help prevent any paint damage on your vehicle.
It is strongly advised not to use any household cleaners on vehicles as they can damage the paint surface and take away the glossy sheen. Always use a sponge when washing as it will lessen the possibility of any dirt or grime from sticking onto it and leaving ugly scratch marks. For some fast Holi colours which do not come-off easily, around 4-5 washes in most cases take care of the stains.

Now if someone has used chemical-based colour which just do not budge from your paint surface, we advise to you to use rubbing compound on them. Apply a little on the affected area and buff it gently with a soft micro fibre cloth and watch the stains vanish. Be careful not to apply too much pressure as it can rub off the top shine coat of the painted surface.
Once you have removed the stains it is time to polish your vehicle with generous use of wax. Polishing the paint surface will revive the lost shine and make you ride sparkle.
Coming to the interiors, the most ideal method to clean stains on plastic panels and seat covers is to use a damp micro fibre cloth. If your car has fabric seats and panels on the doors, we recommend you leave it to car care professionals to handle it.
That said, for those who are either too tired from playing Holi or are too lazy to carry out the above stain removing techniques, we suggest you take your vehicles to a good car care spa in your area so that it can be attended to well. The trained detailing guys will take in your car and return it back to you with a detailed cleaning of the exterior and interior, leaving you with a wide smile on your face.
