Love for Range Rover unites Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood’s romance with automobiles further intensified over the weekend as two of the industry’s big names, though from different generations, were spotted in new sets of wheels. And this time, both the stars – Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor, had a common thread tying them together – Range Rover! Senior Bachchan became a proud owner of a Range Rover Autobiography LWB while the ‘Tamasha’ actor acquired a blue cousin of a Range Rover that he already possessed.  

Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for being specialy active on social media, shared a picture of him with his brand new SUV much to the delight of the petrolheads amongst his followers. “T 2143 - A new acquisition .. among great fanfare .. a rare beauty .. and so many interesting functions inside .. !! (sic)” said Bachchan on his micro-blogging site.

The superstar was gifted a set of keys at JLR’s Andheri showroom in Mumbai, to a Range Rover Autobiography LWB that has been specially designed and customised to suit all his needs. The interiors of the car, including the colour and texture of the leather seats, to the shade of wood panels and dashboard trims, have been made to match the actor’s tastes in cars.

Among the other machines in his garage are the most top of the line and costly autos like Bently Arnage R, Bently Continental GT, Lexus LX 470, Porsche Cayman S, Range Rover SUV, Rolls Royce Phantom and Toyota Land Cruiser.

While many were lusting over Big B’s new set of wheels, Tinsel town went further abuzz with Ranbir’s new love following his alleged breakup with Bollywood beauty queen Katrina Kaif. 

The Kapoor lad was clicked with his brand new blue Range Rover, on Valentine’s Day in the suburbs of Mumbai, where he was partying with the director of his upcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ Karan Johar. The car is also reported to have a special number plate; astrologically tuned to RK’s choice.

This new SUV adds another cog to a flock of cars that the ‘Barfi’ actor owns; a white Audi A8 with another unique number and a brand new Mercedes- Benz G63 to name a few. 

Both the Bollywood men might be compelled by different reasons to buy their new toys, but as long as our needs for dazzling cars are satiated, we are most certainly not complaining.
