Two months back, when Mahindra and Mahindra’s subsidiary - Classic Legends Private Limited - announced that they have acquired the rights to BSA and Jawa bikes, it definitely got a lot of enthusiasts excited. While the new products under the BSA and Jawa are still some time away - some say it could take up to two years - designer Oberdan Bezzi has rendered what the future products could look like. The first bike features a scrambler design and is based on the BSA Victor which featured a 441cc motorcycle that put out 30PS and was on sale between 1968 and 1970. The designer has stayed true to the scrambler style by giving the sketch off-road tyres, raised exhaust kept parallel to the seat. Modern additions include brakes by Brembo, upside down front suspension, gas charged rear shock absorbers and ABS. The Victor looks like a proper tool for some off-road hooliganism. Here's a picture comparing the old Victor to what the 2019 model might look like: The second rendering is of another off-road version named the MX based on the Victor. This bike, the designer says, pays tribute to BSA’s rich history in Motocross championship. And this what the MX looked like in its prime: All BSA models are likely to designed in Europe with technical inputs borrowed from the Indian companies Moto3 division, Mahindra Racing. Expect some French influence to trickle into the BSAs as Mahindra also owns a 51 per cent stake in Peugeot scooters.
