Q.Auto Expo 2016: Jaguar launches its performance sedan XE

Jaguar is all set to unveil and launch the “Prestige’ variant of the XE sedan in India. The new variant will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine capable of producing 197bhp. The ‘Prestige’ variant will sit below the top-of-the-line ‘Portfolio’ variant and will be priced at Rs 43.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). [U][B]So what do you get on the XE Prestige?[/B][/U] Well, a lot of extra features like a sliding sunroof for starters. You also get Taurus leather seats with driver seat memory function, interior mood lighting, 380W Meridian sound system and rear view camera. A lot of excitement at the Jaguar stall today. JLR, as Jaguar is known as, launched the much-awaited XE luxury sedan at a starting price of Rs. 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is the company's entry level performance sedan. The XE will go up against the likes of the BMW 3-series, Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class and Volvo S60 in the fiercely competitive segment. XE also boasts class leading acceleration figures of 0-100 kph in 6.8 seconds, that’s quick! XC comes with Aluminum-intensive monocoque design with specific Jaguar F-Type inspired design cues.
