Within limits of the angle of the photo shots, the car in it's new avataar does look a little wider than the outgoing model. Ofcourse, I say "looks" wider, don't mean to conclude it actually is. The dash certainly looks premium and a big big improvement from the earlier one. I'll say it again... 'Good job Honda'! :D

Finally, Honda will soon be launching a facelift for the Honda Amaze. The launch is slated for March 3. This is a much needed update in my opinion, as the car is beginning to look a little boring. The Amaze operates in a very competitive space, vying of space with the Maruti Dzire, Tata Zest and Ford Figo Aspire. Here are Five things you need to know about the Honda Amaze Facelift. A bunch of spyshots on the Internet show that the latest Amaze has been swathed in chrome up front. That grille (and this is a personal opinion) just looks a bit overdone. I've said this before about the Honda Mobilio too. Why this obsession with chrome? Maruti did the same with the Maruti Dzire as well - slapping on a fat chrome grille, which I don't quite like. Whatever happened to subtle, classy looks? The front looks very busy. That grille is forced. The bumper has been squared off and looks more aggressive. The bonnet gets a couple of muscular creases. This Honda Amaze facelift gets the dashboard treatment from the Honda BR-V . This dashboard does justice to this car, which otherwise had a pretty bland dashboard. Just compare these two: Old Amaze Dashboard: And here's the new Amaze dashboard after the facelift. Things definitely look a lot smarter with the new Amaze. This appears to be a mid-variant - the Honda Amaze S variant. The top-end VX would like feature automatic-climate control. Note the all-new design for the AC vents and the AC control panel. This does look quite classy! Good job Honda. (Image: GaadiWaadi) There are minor updates to the rear. The huge 400 litre boot still remains the largest in its segment - the largest for a sub-4 metre compact sedan that is. The new tail-lamps make the rear look a little wider, which is good. The car anyway had the most decent proportions among all the compact sedans, and this update makes it look at little fresher, after the three years that it has been around. No change to the bumper though. (Image courtesy: GaadiWaadi). For reference take a look at the earlier tail-lamps. The indicator has moved to the top (clear lens portion) and so has the reverse lamps compared to the older Amaze. What do you think of the looks? Prices are unlikely to increase by much. The Amaze facelift has reached dealer yards and will be available on March 3, 2016. Engine choices continue to be the 1.2 litre iVtec petrol and the 1.5 Idtec diesel with five-speed manual transmissions and a 5-speed automatic on the petrol variant.
