Hi Petrolheads, Is it practical (sure it is not legal) to buy from Kerala and use here in Bangalore.
Hi Mahesh, I have been living in Bangalore for sometime and initially I had moved into the city with an out station car. Even though, at present the situation is better and you can use an outstation car in the city for a year, but later you have to pay the state road tax. A group named "Drive without borders" is trying hard to improve things, but the court verdict is still pending for the stay requested by state government over the earlier ruling. However, you are required to pay the taxes after a year, and when you consider that the amount you would be saving is not that high. Also, the fear of RTO checks and such troubles doesn't make it worth the trouble. I have now sold the outsatation car and purchased a car in Bangalore with a KA registration and its much better in terms of peace of mind. I would suggest you to stay away from this Waiting for the Kwid 1.0 would be a good option.

Hi Petrolheads, Now I am even considering the possibility of extending my budget and buying a brand new Renault Kwid. Had a word with Trident Renault. On road prices are RXE (AC): 3.89 Lakhs, RXL (AC, Power Steering): 4.19 lakhs, RXT (AC, Power Steering, Front power windows): 4.58 lakhs in Bangalore. Quite surprised that I can get an RXT version for just 4.06 Lakhs at my hometown (Trivandrum). 50k is a huge difference for first time car buyer like me. Is it practical (sure it is not legal) to buy from Kerala and use here in Bangalore. Also planning to wait for Kwid 1.0L release in June. (Not particularly interested in AMT version).

Mahesh Mohan the Redi-Go too will not be offered with power steering and AC in the base variant. But I am guessing the middle variant will have it minus the CD player which you could always add later.
