The Honda Amaze is the better car here. The Baleno has a long waiting queue ahead. The Amaze has updated to better interiors, which was the sore point of the car.The interior space is surprising if you consider the Dzire which is just atrocious at the rear and since you are thinking of getting the petrol car,the intrusive cabin noise of the 1.5 Diesel motor is not there. All in all a good package with Bullet proof Honda reliability.Regards...
Thanks friends for your valuable suggestions. I'm looking for a petrol version, as my running is ~500 km per month.
If you are looking at driving only about 500 km a month, it is worth going in for a petrol car only, as the additional investment you would put in for a diesel won't be justified. You won't be driving enough to reach a breakeven point with a diesel car. The next thing you need to think about is whether you want a hatchback or a sedan (compact sedan in this case). You would actually get better space utilization in a hatchback like a Jazz over an Amaze, a Baleno over a Dzire. As in a hatchback, if you need more luggage space, you can always flip/fold the seat and carry luggage. Secondly, parking and manouevering in tight spaces is easier with a hatchback. The Honda Jazz has a pretty large boot (366 litres) even more than some of the compact sedans like the Dzire. If you are specifically considering a choice between the Baleno petrol and the Amaze, I would think the Baleno would be a better choice.
