Kia Sonet 2020 Review: Kia’s sub-4m SUV is going to be launched on the 18th September. The Sonet will go up against the Hyundai Venue with which it shares a lot of its mechanicals and engines. However, Kia has ensured that the two SUVs do not look the same, and neither do they feel the same. The Sonet will also rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV 300 and Honda WR-V. To take them head on the Sonet is packing a long list of features, like ventilated seats, drive and traction modes, and a solid air purifier too. It has a good selection of engine and transmission options in petrol and diesel, manual and automatic. The iMT coupled with the 1 litre turbo-petrol is an convenient, fun and cost effective solution. For the very first time the segment also gets a proper diesel and automatic combination as the Sonet is offering the 1.5 litre diesel with the 6-speed torque converter gearbox from the Seltos! There is a lot that the Sonet is wowing us with, but does it live up to the promise?
