Royal Enfield has launched the 2021 Himalayan from Rs 2,01,314 (ex-showroom Chennai). That’s a premium of Rs 9,913 over the previous model. The Himalayan is now available in three new paint options: Pine Green, Mirage Silver and Granite Black, besides the existing Rock Red, Lake Blue and Gravel Grey. The Mirage Silver colour option gets a tan brown seat. The Himalayan’s seat now gets high-density foam to aid long stints on the road which were previously a tad uncomfortable.
Apart from this, the tank braces have been updated to make the motorcycle more comfortable for taller riders and the tail rack has been redesigned to make it sturdier. The windshield too is taller than before to better deflect wind blast from taller riders. The biggest change here of course is the addition of RE’s Tripper Navigation pod, which originally debuted on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, to the instrument cluster. Mechanically, there are no changes as the Himalayan continues to be powered by the same BS6-compliant 411cc single-cylinder motor that makes 24.31PS and 32Nm.
