Jawa has launched the new Forty Two 2.1 in India at Rs 1.84 lakh. The Jawa 42 2.1 isn’t an all-new bike and more of a variant of the Jawa 42. The Jawa 2.1 gets alloy wheels, which means you can tubeless tyres and receives matte-balck treatment on the engine case, exhaust pipe and few other components.
The new Jawa bike also gets accessories such as a windscreen, grab rail and engine guard. Jawa will also be offering saddlebags as an option. The switchgear has also been redesigned and it now gets two tripmeters as part of the update. We would have aprreciated an updated instrument console with details like a gear position indicator, range, real-time fuel efficiency and navigation.
On the mechanical side, the bike gets a motor that makes slightly more power than the older BS6 engine. The new 42 gets a rumbly exhaust note that will be appreciated by a lot of bikers. The bassy exhaust note can be heard from a distance and for a BS6-compliant engine, Jawa has done a good job! The Jawa 42 BS6 competes against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Benelli Imperiale 400, Honda H’ness CB350 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
