The Velar is a plus-sized example of what Land Rover's designers are capable of. The SUV is a more traditional alternative to the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the BMW X6, while also competing with the Porsche Macan and its own cousin, the Jaguar F-Pace. Design aside, it also comes loaded with a range of gimmicks and features, and by Land Rover's own admission, the Range Rover Velar is their most road-biased SUV yet. No doubt then, that this is a risky move for a brand known for its off-road first, luxury second attitude. So has the gamble paid off?
