The 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid has been launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 36.95 lakh, ex-showroom India. The new Camry will be available in the top-spec hybrid variant only. For the first time ever, Toyota is offering the Camry in a bright Mica Red colour apart from the standard whites, browns and blacks. Toyota has pegged the Camry as a driver’s car and it shows in the design.
The design of the Camry is rather sporty, and is underpinned by Toyota’s TNGA platform. This also makes it the first TNGA car in India. The powertrain has been carried over but has been updated. The Camry now makes 218PS of combined power from the engine and the electric motor compared to the 205PS of the old car. The hybrid system is mated an ECVT gearbox that drives the front wheels. Inside you get an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, touch-sensitive controls on the rear armrest and reclining seats.
