The XC40 Recharge is powered by two 204PS, 330Nm electric motors and a 78kWh battery pack. Performance is a brisk 4.9 seconds to 100kmph with a range of 418km on a single charge. With a 150kW DC fast charger it's possible to top up batteries to 80% in just 40min.
Bookings for the XC40 Recharge will start in June and deliveries will start three months later. Volvo plans to phase out internal combustion engines by 2030 and plans to go carbon neutral by 2040.
The XC40 Recharge joins the ranks of the Mercedes-Benz EQC, the Hyundai Kona and the Tata Nexon EV as one of the first wave of fully electric cars hit to the Indian market. Others like the Audi e-tron, Jaguar's E-Pace and the Kia EV6 are soon to join the list too.
