The Toyota Glanza launched in India at prices 7.22 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is the first offering from the Toyota-Maruti deal for cross-baged models. The Glanza is based on the Baleno and is identical to the point that it will be built on Maruti's assembly line, powertrain, exterior, interior and all. But it will only be sold through Toyota. It is being offered in two variants - G and V, with BS6 1.2- litre petrol engines only. The G-MT variant uses Maruti's most recent Dual Jet engine with the mild-hybrid system for 7PS more power and better fuel efficiency. The other is the regular 1.2-litre engine that makes 83PS and 113Nm and is available with both manual as well as CVT automatic transmission.
The Glanza is well equipped from the starting variant with features such as the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, auto AC, projector headlamps, powered ORVMs and rear parking sensors as standard.
