About Mahindra Bolero 2011-2019

Mahindra Bolero enjoys a distinctive place in the hearts of true off-roaders who likes to invade the rutted tarmac more than steering on the well laid out roads. Undoubtedly, Bolero’s features like wide gaping wheel arches, large ground clearance, and differential lock system makes it a true blue off-roader. Mahindra has also updated the seat comfort and quality inside the cabin with the latest facelift and as a result, Bolero can be very well used like any other car for the routine purposes. Under the hood, Mahindra has plonked a 1.5-liter and a 2.5-liter diesel engine stirring 70PS/195Nm and 63PS/195Nm respectively, both mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The Bolero also features the differential lock with low- and high-gear ratios for doing some serious off-roading. Priced between Rs 7.1-8.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mahindra Bolero rivals the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and its own cousin Scorpio among others.

Mahindra Bolero 2011-2019 Overview

The Mahindra Bolero is all set to get a price hike from July 1. This is due to the implementation of safety features to make the Bolero compliant with the AIS 145 safety norms that all manufacturers need to meet by October 1.

India’s favourite workhorse continues to soldier on despite being an 18-year-old model! The utilitarian SUV is known for its go anywhere nature and it’s capability to withstand abuse. In its latest avatar, the Bolero has been chopped to fit under four metres. It also gets a new 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder engine from the TUV300 that makes 70PS of power and 195Nm of torque. Goodies include a digital speedo, a Kenwood music system and manual air-conditioning. Like the Thar, the Bolero is likely to be replaced (or discontinued altogether) by 2020 since it does not meet the upcoming crash test norms.
