Maruti S Cross Overview
Maruti has discontinued the S-Cross in India after seven years. Its production ceased in July as Maruti prepped its replacement, the Grand Vitara. The S-Cross was on sale since 2015 in India and was the first model to be sold through Maruti’s NEXA outlets. At the end of its cycle, it was sold with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 105PS. It was paired to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter with the latter benefitting from mild hybrid assistance.

Q. Which one is best to buy, Tata Nexon, Maruti S-Cross and Kia Sonet?
- All the cars are best in their forte, Nexon becomes the default choice if you want space for five and a comfortable ride. However, if it's polished and the latest tech you're after, the Nexon might feel a little rough around the edges. On the other hand, the S-Cross does fall short when you try to infuse some energy into your driving experience. It’s not the best when it comes to accelerating and thus only those who like to drive in a relaxed manner will appreciate the S-Cross. In our opinion, if your driving is mostly limited to city commutes, then the automatic version makes a lot of sense. For highway driving, however, the manual version will definitely satisfy you more and it will prove to be much more efficient as well. And The Sonet is ticking all the right boxes otherwise. It’s delivering on the wow factor with pukka mini-SUV looks, quality interiors and a feature list that’d make you question paying a premium for larger SUVs. It’s sensible and practical too, with loads of cubby holes and a large boot. You get proper automatics, and the engines on offer cover a wide range of usage. Moreover, we would suggest you visit your nearest dealership and take a test drive. Click on the given link for dealership details and select your desired model and city: dealership.

- Selecting between Hyundai Venue and Maruti S-Cross would depend on several factors such as your budget preference on the segment, features required, cabin space, engine options, brand preference, etc. Hyundai has got the basics spot on with the Venue. It’s spacious enough for the urban family, it has a large boot, and it’s offering the right blend of features and quality. The Venue is a perfect balance of size, features and machinery in its segment. It might not wow you in any particular manner, but it feels just right. It would be a brilliant pick if you are looking for a family SUV with a perfect balance of size, features and machinery in its segment. On the other hand, The S-Cross is a very capable city car. With a petrol engine, it will become even better in its city duties. However, the price will be a big deciding factor. It now gets refined 1.5-litre petrol with smart hybrid tech, finally gets an automatic option, very spacious, and brilliant ride quality.
