MG Windsor EV

MG has teased the Windsor EV again giving us a glimpse of its exterior design, termed ‘Aeroglide design’. We get a look at the silhouette of the vehicle’s fascia and rear end. The electric crossover will also be feature-loaded including a panoramic glass roof and a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is set to be launched in India on September 11, 2024, with unofficial bookings already started at select dealerships.

MG Windsor EV Key Highlights

Features: The MG Windsor EV will have features like a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also likely to have an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, power adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting and wireless phone charging. Instead of a sunroof, the Windsor EV will have a large panoramic glass roof. Regarding safety, the electric crossover is expected to be equipped with features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control as standard across its range. It can also have a 360-degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill start and hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts and ADAS features like blind spot detection, lane keep assist, emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

Motor: Though MG has not yet announced any technical specifications, the model sold overseas gets two battery pack options. It gets a 50.6 kWh battery pack in Indonesia, which powers a front-wheel drive motor churning out 136 PS and 200 Nm. With this battery setup, it has a CLTC-claimed range of 460 km. A smaller 37.9 kWh battery pack is also available in a few markets which gets a claimed range of 360 km.

Rivals: The alternatives to the MG Windsor EV will be the Nexon EV, the Mahindra XUV400 and select variants of the Tata Curvv EV.
