Leoncino 500 Key Highlights
Price: The Benelli Leoncino 500 is priced at Rs 4,69,900 for the base silver option. The red and white variants, on the other hand, cost Rs 4,79,900 (ex-showroom).
Design: On the design front, Benelli hasn’t altered anything on the BS6 Leoncino 500. It continues in the retro theme with an all-LED headlamp. The rugged scrambler look has been carried on with minimal cladding, neutrally placed handlebar, ribbed-pattern seat, and an offset-mounted number plate holder. For a contrasting effect, the engine casing, front fork, and other parts are finished in black.
Features: The Leoncino 500 features an all-LED headlamp flanked by LED turn indicators. The tail light also uses LEDs. The bike gets an asymmetrical twin-pod digital instrument cluster that displays the tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel level, odometer, and engine temperature.
Engine: The Leoncino 500 is powered by a BS6-compliant 500cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine that makes 47.5PS at 8,500rpm and 46Nm at 6,000rpm. It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by a 50mm USD fork and monoshock with preload- and rebound-adjustability. Braking hardware on the Benelli Leoncino 500 comprises dual 320mm front discs and a 260mm rear disc. Dual-channel switchable ABS comes standard. The bike sits on a pair of 27-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tyres. It gets a 12.7-litre fuel tank.
Rivals: The Leoncino 500 competes against the Ducati Scrambler 800. However, for a similar asking price, you can also get the Benelli TRK 502 BS6.
Variants: Benelli offers the BS6 Leoncino 500 in only one variant but it gets two paint schemes: Steel Grey and Leoncino Red. While the former retails at Rs 4,59,900, the latter is priced at Rs 4,69,900.
