Latest Updates on Quanta
Gravton Motors, a Hyderabad-based EV startup, has launched its Quanta electric moped in India at an introductory price of Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom). The company has made some interesting claims about its product, including running costs as low as Rs 80 for 800km. Check out our story for full details on it.
The Quanta is one of the few e-mopeds in India and looks to take over petrol-powered offerings in the segment. Its overall design may seem similar to conventional mopeds but the Quanta packs some interesting bits underneath.
One of these is the ‘Rib caged chassis’ that can house two swappable 3kWh Li-ion batteries. The claimed range for the dual battery pack is an impressive 320km. Mated to the battery is an in-house-developed 3kW motor, capable of propelling the e-moped from 0 to 45kmph in 4.2 seconds, and to a top speed of 70kmph (both claimed).
Features on the Quanta include a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, three riding modes (Eco, City and Dirt), and all-LED illumination. Also part of the package is smartphone connectivity that unlocks some crucial features.
The e-moped rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, sprung on telescopic fork and twin gas shocks, and anchored by single disc brakes at both ends.
The Quanta goes up against the Detel Easy Plus and Revolt RV400, which undercut it by Rs 60,000 and Rs 8,200, respectively.
