Rocket 3 Key Highlights

Price: The Triumph Rocket 3 comes in two variants: the base Rocket 3 R and the touring friendly Rocket 3 GT. The Rocket 3 R comes at a price of Rs 21,99,000 and the Rocket 3 GT costing Rs 22,59,000 (both prices ex-showroom).

Features: Both bikes get a full-colour TFT instrument console, keyless ignition, optimised cornering ABS and traction control. There are 4 riding modes: road, rain, sport and rider-configurable. The riding modes adjust the throttle map and traction control setting. Other electronic aids include hill hold control and cruise control. Rocket 3 GT being the more touring friendly variant comes with a few additional features that enhance its touring capabilities such as a pillion backrest, taller windscreen and also heated grips.

Engine: The motorcycle is powered by a 2458cc liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine which produces 182PS at 7000rpm and 225Nm at 4000rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission linked to a final shaft drive.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The engine nestles inside an aluminium frame, and the suspension bits include an inverted front fork and a monoshock -- both fully adjustable from Showa. Anchorage is via twin 320mm discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 300mm disc at the rear.

Rivals: There are no natural rivals for this performance cruiser but the Ducati Diavel 1260 and the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob come close.
