The bike packs a BS6 compliant 1200cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, which churns out the same 90PS and 110Nm as before. That said, the peak torque comes in at 4,500rpm (550rpm higher) and power at 7,250rpm (150rpm lower). It is paired with the same 6-speed transmission with an assist-and-slipper clutch as before.
Electronic aids include five riding modes along with switchable traction control and ABS. The Steve McQueen Edition gets an additional ‘Offroad Pro’ mode along with cornering ABS and traction control.
The Scrambler 1200 sports Showa inverted fork and twin Ohlins shock absorbers -- both fully adjustable, offering 200mm travel. The XE model gets a fatter 47mm front fork, with 250mm wheel travel at both ends. The two bikes come to a halt using twin 320mm discs with Brembo radial calipers at the front and a 255mm rear disc
The 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen has no direct rival, but the only competition it has is the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled.
