8.5K Views Follow Question Add Answer32 AnswersP | 4 years agoPurchased it on 7th feb from amba motors in vadodara and rpm was set very high when delivered and engine stopping frequently when clutch applied during downshifting. Took it to the service center of dealer and the mechanic saw that rpm showing on instrument cluster was around 1200 but in his diagnostic tool it indicated around 1800 at idle. He changed it to actual 1200 (fluctuates a bit) and it solved the engine stopping problem 80% but still stops sometimes randomly. 1st service was due after few days so told him about the same and mechanic suggested to wait and the problem should iron out by itself and in my 2 interactions with him (name maharaj) he sounded like someone who knows what he is saying and doing so I trusted him and took it back. He suggested that the bs6 engine requires to apply the choke in the morning after starting and leave it in idle for few seconds before riding which I followed and I would say the stopping problem is 90-95% resolved but not happy since it is risky as the YouTube guy says. Clocked 1000kms now but hoping to wait another month to see if it completely goes away or not before going to service station to adjust rpm further which I believe is behind the engine stopping issue Apart from that, heating issue even in feb so one can imagine what will happen in may. Even with the oil cooler shit it heats more than my Thunderbird twinspark even in short distancesThird thing is a tick tick sound after stopping which I have also come across in newer generation scooters that have a highly refined engine unlike RE so I wouldn't bother about it. That sound goes away after a minute of stoppingIn terms of riding, its good otherwise but I get a feeling that bs4 was better than bs6
Kedar | 3 years agoI have purachased my himalayan on 24/02/2021 my bike was so much heating after riding for 27kms on day 1. and engine had stopped working , was also getting engine light on cluster. that was the time when i hd not even reached home with my bikebike pulling on right sidehave starting issuewindshield vibrationnavigation tripper not working2nd day i went to service centre followed by 3rd day now my bike is done with 1st free servicing STILL PROBLEM NOT SLOVEDi have even mailed @support team the reply which i got was not convencingnow they have informed me dat a team from mumbai iz going to come to inspect ma vehicle, which i don't know whenAnd right from booking till date dealer in goa is lieng to me on all the problems that i am facingsome were i felt like it was useless purchasing himalayan . would have had gone for some other touring bike
Dadi | 4 years agoGot delivery of my new Himalayan bs6 variant recently and later noticed that the rear wheel was completely displaced towards left. It is hampering the balance of the bike and is also makes the bike look ugly. Rpm fluctuates a lot and engine stops occasionally while riding. Engine heats quickly. I hope this problem goes away after servicing. Few nuts are also missing, only bolts are placed. Did not expect manufacturing negligence from RE team, or may be I was unlucky to get a defective product.
Avinash | 3 years agoHi , i bought my Himalayan Bs6 on july 2020 and took delivery on sept , first month with the bike was awesome , after the first ;service on oct 2020 , i faced many issue one of the issue is the bike sounded weird while riding on hills and the sound was horrible and irritating , later i found it was the tappet , and i gave it to the service center no changes , came to the company outlet service for solution in chennai , no go ive be back and forth to the service center almost every two week , no solution. raised many complaints over the year . hell , i posted a complaint yesterday too . the issue is the tappet noise was more audible @ 2500 to 3500rpms compared to other himalayan bikes even bs4 , and can feel the vibrations on the handle bars . on the hills under load the noise from the engine head is unbearable . other that this engine stalling issue is present , but i can manage that issue . poor service from the royal enfield side and poor engine quality

Kranthi | 3 years agoI have bought this vehicle is February 27th 2020 with lot of excitement and enthusiasm. But it has been 20 months now and the vehicle has mileage of 1762km only. That is because of the main reasons ,1. The vehicle gets off almost every minute when I wanted to shift the gear or hold the clutch .This problem has caused me lot of tensions in traffic roads.2. The Vehicle battery discharges randomly even on regular usage.we cannot know when the battery discharges in middle of our work.I wanted to sell of the vehicle to someone but I don't want to disappoint them with these huge problems with vehicle. So I request you to people to take back my Himalayan BS VI and pay me whatever reasonable price you can do.
Paritosh | 3 years ago@ Sivachaitanya | I bought the himalayn on April 2021, I am facing the stalling issue most of the times. I have reached the service centre about 5 times on same issue, they are unable to fix it. Today I dropped my bike at service on service centre on same issue. Let's hope for this time they fix the issue. NOT ONLY ME MANY HIMALAYNA BS6 OWNERS ARE FACING THE SAME ISSUE ON MY CIRCLE. I don't know RE what is doing on this issue. I have raised the complaint many times.
Hi Siva , i am experiencing the same issue with my Himalayan its been 20 days i am riding it and have completed 400 kms however sometimes RPM went too low on his own and shuts off the engine even when you are in down gears. Also , once when it did the same and was not starting i tried opening the fuel tank lid and it started once some air passed through the tank. It seems it has some issue with air ventilation too with the fuel tank. Will highlight this while servicing too. let me know once your problem get fixed.

Allwin | 2 years agoTook delivery on November 1st 2021/ 10K kms covered. My experience with Himalayan bs6 2021 model. Only mentioning issues here. Rusting on bolts, T stem issues frequently, fasteners falling while riding, head light not enough for night ride, engine heats up only inside city not on long rides, rear shock absorber sound & service( not giving much importance for issues) . These or only issues so don't judge.

Karthik | 3 years ago3000 km done ,2 days ago clutch cable broke, then today the ignition system stopped working because fungus in relay(probably my fault cuz i didn't use it for almost a month due to covid) and also motorcycle sometimes stalls at low rpm at 1-2 gear.
Rony | 3 years agoBreakpad gone within 1400km, answer from service centre is due to off roading, horn is in faulty condition whenever i go for longer ride wire gets disconnected Purchase date 2aug2021Cant believe so pathetic from manufacturing perspective RE
Tirthankar | 4 years agoYes I have the same problem.... I bought it two weeks ago.... The engine stops suddenly and during changing gears also..... It's an annoying problem during riding in a crowded city
Akhil | 3 years agoI am still waiting to get my bike delivered. It's 180 days now since I have booked. These guys have a very bad customer support and management. Making good use of RE fans.
