Q. I am planning to buy Okinawa R30 electric scooter. Is it worth buy or any other option?

At a price of Rs 58,992, it offers good value. The R30 low-speed electric scooter’s bodywork is similar to the Okinawa Ridge but it is priced almost Rs 15,000 less than the high-speed scooter. The new R30 electric scooter can be pre-booked for Rs 2,000 at Okinawa dealerships. The low-speed scooter is powered by a 250-watt BLDC electric hub motor. It has a peak power output of 250-watt that helps the R30 reach a top speed of 25kmph. Power comes from a 1.25kWh lithium-ion battery pack which you can charge from your home or office via a micro charger. The battery pack takes 4 to 5 hours to charge using a household electric socket. Q. Do we need driving license for this model?

Since Okinawa R30 is powered by 250W and the top speed is capped at 25kmph. So, there is need no license or registration in India for scooters that have their top speed capped at 25km per hour or have a motor of 250W or lower.

Maximum 37 kms per hour and distance in actual riding condition where there is traffic and usage of brakes are most at 45-50/charge.
