Our Opinion On The Kwid's Looks
- Renault has done a good job with the styling and the Kwid looks a lot more premium than the entry level car that it isCool quirky design elements like the low mounted headlamps, chunky roof rails
- Slim DRL signature brighten up the design
- Very nicely designed hub caps that actually look like alloy wheels
- Rear design is rather simple
-
The Kwid On The Inside
- The actual design of the cabin is clean, simple and just works
- The 8-inch touchscreen has a simple easy to use interface
- The digital analogue drivers display on the other hand is great. Large, easy to read and give you all the information you need
- The quality and fit and finish are what you’d expect from the segment with hard plastics all around and fabric seat covers
- In terms of practicality, there is a lot of storage spaces peppered all around the cabin but the lack of cupholders is somewhat of a miss
- Touchscreen brightness, resolution and speed are in the budget category
- Lack of any cupholders is somewhat of a miss.
-
Is It Spacious?
- For average sized adults the Kwid is a good fit
- The seats are supportive and the cushioning is adequate
- The boot space is 289 litres which means you can fit one medium and one small sized hard luggage in addition a couple of soft duffle bags in here easily
- The older model did sport a fold down armrest but that’s no longer offered
- Taller people will find a lack of knee room and seat support as well as find the non-adjustable headrests an annoyance
-
The Kwid's Feature List
- 8-inch touch screen with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- Steering mounted audio controls
- Keyless entry
- Front speakers
-
Is It Safe?
- 2-airbags as standard

-
How the Kwid Drives
- The Renault Kwid does the basics well if your driving style is calm and unhurried
- If you like a more engaging driving experience pick the manual
- You can expect around 13-14kmpl in the city and 15-17kmpl when driving on the highway
- The AMT gearbox is slow shifting and gets jerky if you try to drive in a hurried manner
- Overtakes will need to be planned
-
How The Kwid Rides
- Yes, the Kwid does have a nicely balanced suspension
- It gobbles up potholes and doesn't mind bad roads at all
- Only level changes at highway speeds and fast cornering upset the Kwid
-
Who Should Buy The Renault Kwid?
- Pick the Kwid if you are on a strict budget but still want something that looks attractive
- Someone who is looking for a comfortable ride and has many broken roads in his area
- If you don’t mind the basic cabin and lackluster performance and are on a tight budget
- If you don't need the convenience of an automatic or automated manual transmission
