Q. How is the Pick up in steep hilly areas ghat sections - Amaze?

It sucks!! don't ever go for Honda Amaze petrol. There is no low end torque. You will find it difficult to drive in hilly areas especially when you stop the car and try to move again. 3rd and 4th gear doesnt give much power and hence overtaking is difficult too. It has very short gear ratios and hence you will be driving it in 5th gear most of the time which would give you good mileage of around 17 to 18 kms. Apart from the petrol engine the car feels premium and has all the adequate features for a family sedan.

Yes it is best in the way .Amaze is best in drive dynamics .it has more power in diesel as well asin petrol than the top selling vehicles .The Torque is very important in hill steeps . You should get more torque at lower RPMs of engine.In Amaze delivers in Petrol – 110 Nm torque @ 4800 RPM,In Diesel delivers 200 Nm torque @ 1750 RPM , In Diesel CVT about 160 Nm of torque @ 1750 RPM is specifically trimmed . In Diesel CVT keeping the torque requirements it is trimmed to deliver a torque as above and 20% less power so it to stay no lag always . In diesel CVT you have L mode to get some options in Torque when you need . 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 90 BHP of power at 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque at 4800 RPM. I.e max power at high RPM and Max torque at Low RPMs . On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine gives out 100 HP of power at 3600 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM.. Stay ahead of all

In low RPM below 2000 its very difficult to drive pick up is very low and seems its not ready to move so we have shift to 2nd or even to 1st gear. I have complained to dealer service and also to company but no in vein. They Saya there will be a software update but till today nothing so when you have plan to buy petrol variant manual transmission think twice
