No it isn't underpowered at all infact it is suffice for most of the people. Take my word. Moreover even in its 1.4 guise , it is still faster than Ciaz diesel as well almost on par with City diesel.

If u have driven the 1.6 then everything else seems underpowered

No. It's not underpowered. It's very powerful than other 1.4 diesel cars. So go for it.
